about

This piece originated with a drum machine / bass groove (played on the touch-style guitar). The melody immediately took shape, but the piece sat in an unfinished state for a little over a year.

When I returned to it, I replaced the drum machine with real drumming (no loops!), made a couple adjustments to that early melody take, then added the solos. Nearly everything on this piece is the first take, though the title comes from the groove riding on the one chord.
